'Experience is the hardest kind of teacher

In an age where we fill the web with more and more selfies it seems increasingly relevant that we teach our children what beauty really means

In our modern world it's often about looks and appearance when in fact real beauty is so much more substantial than the surface alone

We will always be our mother’s  child

I chose an autumnal palette for this piece in which I wanted to convey a sense of rest

Explore. Dream. Discover Francis leavey 'Experience is the hardest kindThis piece is part of our 'Inspired by Ireland' series. Ireland's highest peak, Carrauntoohil in the Macgillycuddy's Reeks range is located in Co. Kerry. Those mountains inspired this piece. The landscape of the South West is rich and varied. There is a strength and warmth to it that is reminiscent of a proud mother. She nurtures her children and invites them to explore, dream and discover.
