Old Viking Map of Great Britain in 1645 by Jan Jansson - Anglo-Saxon Heptarchy In England, Scotland & Wales Size:24x36in (60x90cm) Blaeu consulted many other mapsThis is one of the oldest, finest and most fascinating maps of Great Britain, showing the nation as it was during Saxon times in 500 700 AD an era known as the Heptarchy, as England and Wales were split into 7 Angle Saxon kingdoms. The map was engraved by Jan Jansson in 1645, and it looks very similar to the John Speed and Saxton maps of the British Isles. This is an extremely fine copy of a rare map it's unusual to find a map this old that has been
