I was delighted to find these two portraits tucked away in a country saleroom during the first lockdown for something of a steal
presented his own show on Radio Luxembourg and was a panellist in the 1950s and 60s on ‘What’s My Line
His mastery of these different disciplines fills me with admiration and annoyance in equal measure
It is an over-painting
These days his work is in a different realm altogether and he now uses every medium except oils
