Downstream Past Albert Bridge II sold deeply retro in a 70s

deeply retro in a 70s Bond girl way

standing atop a vintage tool box

My starting point for this painting was a sketch I made from a rather coy image from a Greek vase

as every work had to be sold instantly he found it impossible to build up a body of work that the dealers required for the solo shows that would have made his name

The creative elite had been holidaying or living there since the mid-nineteenth century and by the beginning of the next century it had become a relative safe-haven for the gay and lesbian community
