Low Kang Chest, Black Lacquer spo-notify-me-enabled the shelves are produced in
Description
the shelves are produced in a frame and panel design with an extended top - in keeping with other pieces in our Chinese Country Elm Furniture range
The main difference in our version is the addition of a wooden hanging rail on the inside - something unfamiliar to Ming and Qing Dynasty Chinese who would always fold their clothes for storage inside cabinets and chests
Depending on the size of your TV then please contact us as we can make larger or smaller bespoke versions of the cabinet to order
with the larger ones were being referred to as hundred eye chests (or 'bei yau chu' in Chinese)
or use them at the head of our dining tables
Low Kang Chest, Black Lacquer spo-notify-me-enabled the shelves are produced inThis black lacquer low TV unit is one of our own more modern designs, but with Chinese style that harks back to those early pieces. Low cabinets and tables were in use from early on in China's history, particularly in the colder northern provinces, where low furniture would be placed on the heated 'kang' platform that formed the main living space in the winter months. It is ideal as a TV stand, with an open shelf for a DVD player or digital box
