Portrait of a Young Girl Gold Silver & Bronze Spear had a long and

Spear had a long and presumably happy marriage to Mary who he remained with all his life

a studio nude and a genre painting

This foreboding slag heap of a hill behind the little community

This young lady needs a good home

it took me some time to work it out but she’s loosening her hair from behind and it has fallen over her face

Portrait of a Young Girl Gold Silver & Bronze Spear had a long andIt is a wonder to me that the artist of this highly accomplished little portrait cannot be found listed anywhere. It does happen occasionally but short of the painter using a pseudonym to dodge a gallery contract as often happened or a joker adding their name for some spurious reason, Im at a loss. Anyway courtesy of an American dealer friend and a bit of TLC from our professional restorers here she is, an anonymous 1950s beauty with no past.
