I was delighted to find these two portraits tucked away in a country saleroom during the first lockdown for something of a steal
Brook painted his first wife Peggy many times but this coy little portrait is so intimate a study
he would often lament to me his feelings of disappointment as a painter
During lockdown I spent some time on a narrowboat on the Regent’s Canal
Sheffer’s work is presumably an illustration intended for publication in a mainstream magazine
