Sweep It Under The Carpet Canvas Print matisse A very inviting scene indeedSweep it Under the Carpet appeared on a wall on Chalk Farm Road, North London. It shows a maid who is sweeping dirt under the cover of a brick wall. The meaning behind the artwork is that the maid represents Western society and its failure to deal with global issues such as the environment, poverty and welfare where they just sweep it under the carpet and pretend its not there.
